Welcome to Whiting United Methodist Church

There’s a Place for You Here.

At Whiting United Methodist Church, you don’t have to have everything figured out before you walk through the door.

We are a community of people growing in faith, learning to love God and one another, and seeking to make a difference in the world around us.

Whether you have been part of a church your whole life, are returning after many years, or are simply wondering what faith might mean for your life, you are welcome here.

Come as you are.
Bring your questions.
Bring your story.
And discover with us the grace of Jesus Christ.

“We love because God first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19

What to Expect

Come as you are.
There is no dress code and no expectation that you already know everything about church.

Everyone is welcome at Communion.
As a United Methodist congregation, we celebrate an open table. You do not need to be a member of Whiting UMC—or of any church—to receive Communion.

Accessibility matters to us.
Our building is wheelchair accessible, and hearing assistance is available upon request.

There is room for connection.
Our Christian Life Center provides space for fellowship, meals, classes, ministries, and community gatherings.

More Than Sunday Morning

We believe church is not simply a place we attend—it is a community through which we live out our faith.

Together, we seek to care for one another, serve our neighbors, grow as disciples of Jesus Christ, and share God’s grace beyond the walls of the church.

We are not a perfect church.

We are people being shaped by a perfect love.

And there is a place for you here.

Come and see.

  We Are The                 Church

We believe the church is not somewhere you go, it’s something you are. We know that God is moving through the church, and we want you to be a part of it. There are several ways you can get involved.

Vital Worship

We believe that worship services continue to be the primary place of connection with those who are already connected to the church as well as those who are seeking a place to belong.

 Small Groups

We believe that a variety of small groups throughout the year invite us into a deeper relationship with Jesus.

Mission and Outreach

We believe that advancing God’s Kingdom comes through partnering with God to be agents of transformation in the world. Engagement is through hands-on activity within the local church and beyond the walls of the local church. This is seen through activity in local, national, and international mission and outreach.

Stewardship

We believe Stewardship is not only about Church finances, but it is a way of living.
